No Code Roundup in January

January has ended and if we’ve learnt anything, we know the no code movement is continuing to boom in 2022. Giving new products life and bringing them to market is easier than ever. Start-ups are gaining traction and going from 0 to 100 without having to write a single line of code. No code and low code platforms are giving non-technical developers the tools to create software in their domains and unlocking innovative business ideas that they previously couldn’t produce because they lacked coding knowledge. We’ve rounded up some amazing news from the world of no code in January.

Wandelbots Raises Another $84m to Teach Robots with No Code

Wandelbots a robotic software company, creates industrial robots that are accessible for everyone. In 2017 Wandelbots developed and introduced software for no code robotics, offering the worlds easiest robot programming solution and platform for developers to build easy-to-use software. Their platform allows anyone from any education, experience, or social background to work with robots. On the 25th of Jan, they announced they had raised over $84 million in a Series C financing round, led by New-York based global private equity and venture capital firm Insight partners, with participation from existing investors 83North, Microsoft, Next47, Paua, Atlantic Labs and EQT.

No Code Mobile App Developer that Builds Your Store in One Day

 Pocketfied have developed a no code mobile app developer, which is different to your standard mobile app builder. Pocketfied went live in January, where they are offering to build your store’s mobile app in a record time of just one day. They offer flawless designs that fully integrate with Shopify’s online store, as well as handing AppStore and Google Play registration and launching.

Welcome WordPress 5.9 “Josephine”

An exciting month for WordPress users. WordPress released their latest update in January, named in honour of acclaimed jazz singer Joséphine Baker. WordPress 5.9 “Josephineinclude the most versatile updates for users:

  • Full site editing.

  • Twenty Twenty-Two default themes for building block-based websites.

  • A New Navigation Block.

  • Pattern Explorer.

  • Revamped List View.

  • Improved Block Controls.

  • Updated Gallery Block.

Developers have some new tools too, with a new API for locking blocks, being able to register multiple stylesheets per block and theme.json, which supports child themes.

No Code Product of the Year

Softr won “Product of the Year in 2021’ in the Golden Kitty Awards, provided by Product Hunt. Softr is an innovative web development solution, which helps users create websites, portals, and web apps on Airtable using no code, within just ten minutes. Users can link different pages or connect applications with external services and platforms. The award is an amazing triumph for the no code world, giving an incredible opportunity for non-tech people. No Code Lab are not surprised that a no code product won. A massive congratulations to the team at Softr.

No Code Movement

During the pandemic, remote software production grew an enormous interest in no code/low code platforms. According to Gartner’s latest estimate, the global no code/lowcode industry is worth 22.6% more in 2021 than 2020, at around $13.8 billion. We found some interesting no code/low code usage statistics that reflect the growth and reasons for no code!
